Multiversus: First Impressions

A fun little game that will test your skills and give you a nostalgia trip.

Brawlers in lieu of Super Smash Bros are a ton of fun, especially with friends. Multiversus takes that up a notch with a focus on team play and an extensive library of well known characters from the Warner Brothers wide array of characters. We’re talking about Batman, Wonder Woman, Meme Shaggy, Bugs Bunny, a bunch of Cartoon Network characters and I am sure there are more on the way.

The fighting is quite in depth and each character plays differently, though they do fit into different classes. Bugs Bunny is more of a trickster character who can launch rockets and dig in his ACME crate for nice and explosive goodies.

Batman is fast paced and grapples onto targets while throwing batarangs. Superman is a tank, he is slower but as soon as he grapples you in an aerial grab, you are screwed.

With all the different combos for each character, there is a bit of depth to the game and players may find it easy to learn but hard to master. I like Bugs Bunny and Batman so far, though Wonder Woman is a good support character as she can give a shield to her ally.

The level designs are cute, with references to WB characters. There are little Easter Eggs scattered throughout, like in the haunted mansion you can see the Ghost from Scooby Doo floating about.

One of the best things about this game is crossplay and cross-progression. So you can play wherever and on whatever you want, a feature sorely missing in Brawlhalla.

The popularity of this game has taken everyone by surprise though as reports say that Multiversus has surpassed 10 million players. So if you need a reason to try this game out, there are 10 million of them.

The game is challenging, cute and fun. I can highly recommend it.
