Conan Exiles Reveals The Age of Sorcery

A new update comes to Conan Exiles, and it’s a much anticipated one!

Finally! After years of it being a wishlist addition to the hit survival game, Conan Exiles, Sorcery is officially coming to the game, and it looks fantastic and true to the Conan lore. This new addition also calls for some reworks on the skills system and the devs are re-working the building system as well, making it more streamlined while some other behind-the-scenes changes will be made as well. This is essentially a re-launch of the game as far as I’m concerned. The addition of Sorcery is the biggest game-changer though, and it adds an extra layer of depth to the game nad meta.

Finally, that nasty corruption we accumulate while exploring dark areas in the map will be useful as we can use it to corrupt or abilities, making our characters more unnatural, as it is in the Conan books. We can also cast spells from an ice bridge to raising the dead, though this requires sacrifice. In true Conan fashion, players will have to perform blood rituals with captured thralls and sacrifice them for power. But being a magic user comes at a cost as picking up corruption caps our maximum health and stamina to 50%. So if you want to be a full-blown mad wizard, you have to pay the price with your life source. This makes them glass cannons. Another nice detail is the fact that characters will become more gaunt, pale and have protruding veins as they become more and more corrupt. Nice little touch there. Magic has a cost, and you must be prepared to pay it in full.

Battlepass and In-Game Shop

This update also brings a Battlepass and In Game shop, which players groaned about but these items will all be cosmetic and the purpose is to generate an income while making big updates like Sorcery for free. It makes sense to me as the game has some years on it and it has settled into its playerbase. These items will be account wide, so no worries there.

The new update is slated for Q3 2022, so it could be any day now, but my bet is September. Don’t ask me why I think this, maybe it’s magic.
