Dying Light is by far the best zombie game I have played. Building off of the rotting corpse of the Dead Island series, Dying Light introduced a simple yet effective parkour system, brutal combat, and a decent story coupled with an interesting open world to play around in. The game also has a dynamic where faster, meaner and scarier zombies came out at night and players need to hold them off with UV light to keep them at bay.
The title also built upon the crafting and weapon modding system that was in Dead Island. Overall, Dying Light is a cult classic and players have wanted more ever since The Following expansion pack came out (which introduced buggies that could be driven around a rural map opposed to a city.)
We’ve known about the sequel for a while now but it was delayed and then Techland went radio silent on it. Well, that was until a few days ago when something woke up…
Dying Light 2: Stay Human
Stay Human is the new subtitle for Dying Light 2 which makes sense seeing as though the main character has been bitten and is using medication to stay human. The sequel sports a larger open world than the original which changes and adapts to how players handle their relationships with the various factions.
This world seems to be more alive than the first and the zombies seem more terrifying seeing as though they have had fifteen years worth of evolution to spice things up a bit.
There isn’t much more I can say other than urging you to watch the trailer above. The game looks fantastic and according to the release date, it is coming very soon. Let’s just say I know what I want for Christmas this year!
