Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers in the real world. Fortnite has also had DC Comics crossovers in the past like Batman and Catwoman skins and the Last Laugh bundle that brought Joker and Poison Ivy in the game. Aquaman, Raven, Beastboy, and Green Arrow had their own events too.
In fact, Fortnite is the only game I can think of where Marvel and DC characters rub shoulders. It is all part of Fortnite’s metaverse. Now, Batman and co have returned in the form of in-game skins and a real world comic book series.
The Skins
To fit with the primal theme of this season, this version of Batman wasn’t the traditional version of Batman. Rather, it is the version of him that appears in the Batman X Fortnite comic book series called Batman: Zero Point, which is the name of the skin too.
This Batman has been out in the wilds for a while and had to rely on repurposing his suit and some other materials to make a suit that can better handle the primal setting he finds himself in. The skin looks amazing and I love this wilder version of Batman.
He isn’t the only one who had to adapt as Catwoman has returned too. But this time, she looks a little different with a jersey over her suit.
And the recently announced Deathstroke skin looks like it fits with this season’s theme as well.
A new variant of Harley Quinn was attached to a code found within issues of the comic book series with talk of an armoured Batman skin being attached to the last issue in the mini-series. However, these codes are for the US only (which is sad.)
I’m still interested in reading these comics, though. So, here’s hoping they end up in a nice big omnibus collection in the future.
