Street Fighter Slams into Fortnite

Street Fighter is the latest crossover in Fortnite.

Well, that was a surprise. No, really… I was expecting Mortal Kombat given the trailer for the new movie but instead we got a Street Fighter crossover. I’ll admit I’m not that well versed with the world of Street Fighter. I played some of it back in the arcades during the good old days, but I’ve always been more of a Mortal Kombat fan.

In a surprising move, Fortnite added Street Fighter into their bounty hunter-themed season but I have a question… why Street Fighter? These are fighters, not bounty hunters?

Predator, Terminator, Kratos, I understand…but Street Fighter?

It seems like Agent Jones is just pulling in characters from his favourite realities just for fun at this point and has lost sight of his mission of hiring bounty hunters to keep everyone contained in the loop..

The Trailer

I’ve fallen in love with these little trailers that have come out with most of the events. This time around we see Agent Jones jump into an iconic level from the Street Fighter franchise where Ryu and Chun-Li are about to beat the living… ahm… fight but then Agent Jones pulls them into the world of Fortnite.

If you watch carefully, you’ll see how smooth the transition from pixels to Fortnite’s cartoony graphics is. Also, why isn’t Agent Jones and all of his variants a skin yet? This guy is awesome!

The Bundle

The skins come with built-in emotes iconic to the characters from the game, a glider, and harvesting tools inspired by the game. The bundles are a bit pricy and I’m assuming Epic Games is making a lot of money from everyone who wants to buy V-bucks to snag their favourite characters.

The season is almost over though and there is one more hunter that needs to enter the fray. So, the question is who could that be?

Well, according to Fortnite leaker Hypex, the question shouldn’t be who that could be but rather… what could that be…
