Riders Republic Overview

Riders Republic isn’t my type of game… but then why am I so interested in it?

I’m just going to be honest. I’m not really a fan of Riders Republic-style games.

Although I really enjoyed Skate, it was an exception. I’ve pretty much skipped every extreme sports game released. I briefly dabbled in the Trials series, but it really didn’t last long.

At the end of the latest Ubisoft Forward stream, Ubisoft showed off their latest IP, and I wasn’t expecting this at all. This is Riders Republic and for some reason, despite it not being my kind of game… I am intrigued… I am very, very intrigued.

So, join me as I try figure out what about this wild game has me so interested in it.

Could It Be The Premise?

This is an open world online game, which is being dubbed an ‘extreme sports fantasy land’. Players can snowboard, ski, ride bicycles, and use wing suits.

I also saw a small glimpse of parachuting and a snowmobile that was shown briefly at the 7:12 mark of the video below. I can’t help but wonder if there will be more vehicles than what was already shown?

Could It Be The Open World?

From the brief glimpses we saw in the trailer, the open world not only looks beautiful but huge too.

It looks like there are a ton of locations players can mess around in. What good is an open world if it lacks the playground aspect? Riders Republic seems to have that in droves.

Riders Republic

Could it be the Vibe?

Riders Republic has a light-hearted ‘do what you want and have fun with your friends’ vibe to it. And that is my favorite vibe.

The game looks promising and looks like it can take hours of my life while I just explore and try to land tricks to impress my peers.
