At the last Ubisoft Forward event, it was revealed that the beloved classic, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, is getting a remake.
I’ll be honest; I didn’t play The Sands of Time. However, I did play The Warrior Within, which I enjoyed. If Ubisoft decides to redo the whole series, it would be great.
But I can’t help but wonder if the remake is a prelude to a new instalment in the franchise?
New Team: Who This?
The game is being worked on by some of Ubisoft’s new additions to their development team. The Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai studios seem really excited to be working on bringing the classic title to the modern world.
Although these studios have worked on other games before, this is their first AAA project. I’m excited to see what Ubisoft India do in the future as I am quite fond of Indian culture and mythology.
Could we see the team work on an Immortals game in the future? I really hope so. But for now I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with Prince of Persia.
The Graphics and Voice
I saw a lot of blacklash online for the game’s cartoony art style. Personally, I like it. But I can see why others may not.
It looks like it fits well to me but I already have a close friend who saw the trailer was turned off by the graphics. He was hoping for a more realistic looking style. Perhaps, I just have a weakness for a good cartoonish aesthetic.
One thing all fans are happy about is the return of The Price’s voice actor; Yuri Lowenthal. At the very least, there will be one callback to the old games.
Are you excited about the return of The Prince?
