Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville’s New Season Overview

A brief look at the new season in Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville.

It feels like just the other day I wrote about the roadmap for Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville’s Q1 plans, and now here we are at the tail end of that roadmap. Time flies when you’re battling it out in Neighborville it would seem. This season is all about the Saint Patrick Day celebrations but also a rift between players…

Luck o’ The Zombie

Giddy Park is adorned with green, gold and white balloons, and pots of gold have been scattered all over the place, along with hot air balloons shaped like a leprechaun hat. There is even a nice little Irish jig that plays upon loading in.

There is always something to do in Giddy Park, the game’s HUB world. From hunting down invisible gnomes to shooting targets or other players, there’s a lot of fun to be had. The way Giddy Park changes with each season is really one of the highlights of the game. No doubt April will bring Easter-themed decorations but what comes after that is anyone’s guess.

Wizard

The Wizard

As if summoned by Merlin himself, a new zombie character has been added to the game in the form of the Wizard. He looks really cool and has a lot going for him. His abilities include jumping on another character’s head and shooting enemies while in his ‘star’ form.

But he is also placed on the end of this season’s battle pass and that has a lot of players raising their eyebrows. Sure, he can be obtained with a good grind or players could just buy the bulbs needed to max out their prize map to get him. There is an argument that it isn’t ‘pay-to-win’ due to him not being to everyone’s liking or playstyle but it is a bit odd to put him on the battle pass.

Apparently, he will be unlockable in the future with a large sum of coins but players are concerned that EA is trying to see what they can push and get away with.

We’ll have to see how this plays out in future seasons. But for now the game could do with a few more PVE regions, which I hope is on the cards.
