The PlayStation 5 is still a device that we have yet to learn much about. Although some light has been shed on some of its features, such as its fast SSD and the haptic feedback on its controllers, we still know very little. Well, after Sony’s disappointing showing at CES 2020, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan seems intent on informing gamers that there is a lot to look forward to in terms of features on the upcoming PS5.
The news comes from a recent interview with Business Insider Japan where Jim Ryan stated that there was still plenty left to reveal ,commenting, “There are still more unique elements for the PlayStation 5 to come that separate it from previous consoles”
He went on further to say, “We have already confirmed the use of a solid-state drive. Having load times that are next to nothing is a major change. 3D audio and the haptic feedback support of the controller are also things that when you try them, you will be surprised at how big a change they are.” He elaborated on this by suggesting that playing Gran Turismo Sport with a PS5 controller is so different that players will not want to return to the previous gen controller.
This suggests that Sony may be on the right track despite many feeling the company has been lazy with their marketing, especially when the fact that Microsoft has already revealed quite a bit about the Xbox Series X is taken in consideration. With the console set to release during the holiday season, it is only a matter of time before Sony reveals more features.
What the PS5 really has to offer players remains to be seen. It will be interesting to see where and when Sony chooses to reveal more about the console, especially seeing as the company has decided to skip E3 this year.
What do you think these unique features are?
