Ever since Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was revealed, fans of the anime have been excited for the title. Since then, Bandai Namco has revealed a lot of information about the game, such as that it will feature new canon stories, side-missions and fan favorite characters. However, many fans have had questions regarding how much of the anime’s overall story will the game cover.
Previously, it was announced that the game would cover the the Cell, Namek and Sayian sagas. Well, during the Tokyo Game Show, Bandai Namco revealed a new trailer showing off a teaser for the Buu saga. They also announced that the game will be released on 17 January 2020.
The publisher also announced that the game have multiple editions available to purchase, including Standard, Deluxe, Ultimate, and Collector’s editions. The Collector’s Edition will include an exclusive diorama, a hardcover art book and an exclusive steel-book. Bandai Namco also said that the game will feature a season pass, which will only be available sometime after release. They also revealed some of the pre-order bonuses with an exclusive sub-quest, a cooking item, and early access to Bonyu’s training.
The new trailer has put fan fears to ease and it shows some of the most iconic moments on the saga. If the main game makes it all the way to the Buu Saga, it will be interesting to see what post launch content will cover, and whether it will include new stories and/or events from the film universe.
The announcement of a release date is sure to have many players excited. The title is set to be one of the biggest releases of the January release window and should kick-off 2020 well. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will release on 17 January 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
