When it comes to upcoming PlayStation exclusives, arguably, the most-anticipated is The Last of Us Part II. The title has been shrouded in mystery, with rumors regarding details about the game and its release date circling on the internet for quite some time. Well, this seems as if it will be changing soon, as a recent tweet from The Game Awards director, Geoff Keighley, has revealed that Naughty Dog will be holding a media event for the game sometime later this month.
Keighley tweet featured a The Last of Us Part II media event image, which stated that the event will be taking place on 24 September. It is unclear what will be featured at the event, although some have speculated that some new gameplay and/or story details will be revealed, as well as the release date.

There have been a few conflicting leaks regarding a release date over the past few years. Some reports have stated the game will be releasing next February, while others have claimed that it will be in May, but nothing has been confirmed.
Speaking on the upcoming sequel, director Neil Druckmann stated, “I can’t tell you how satisfying it is to finally be able to say that Ellie and Joel are back for another intense, harrowing, and emotional adventure. Like many of you, we have a deep love for the world of The Last of Us and its characters, and while a sequel may have seemed like a foregone conclusion, it wasn’t the case.”
This recent announcement has re-fueled anticipation for the game. It unclear if the event will be streamed to the public at this moment. Hopefully, we will finally get that release date.
