Rumour: Overwatch Possibly Teased For Nintendo Switch

A recent Amazon listing suggests that Overwatch is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

A recent Amazon listing suggests that Blizzard’s popular FPS game Overwatch will soon be ported to the Nintendo Switch. Images recently posted by Twitter user Wario64 showcased an official-looking Amazon listing for an Overwatch-themed Switch case, though the case seems to have since been de-listed. This has led many to speculate that Blizzard is going to announce an Overwatch port to the Nintendo Switch in the near future.

Overwatch is one of the most popular multiplayer games of recent years, featuring a memorable cast of characters and a unique art style. It would make sense for the developer to port one of their biggest games to the quick-selling console as it may create new interest in the game.

It is also possible that Blizzard may not be planning an Overwatch port, but rather that characters from the game will somehow be represented in another way, in another game available on the Switch. The most likely option is a guest appearance in Super Smash Bros. For example, fans could perhaps see cover star Tracer appear as a playable character in the game.

Super Smash Bros. has previously included characters from other games, such as Joker from Persona 5, and Banjoo Kazooie. This also wouldn’t be the first time Blizzard content makes an appearance on the Nintendo Switch as the publisher ported Diablo III to the console in recent months.

This new listing has Switch players excited about the potential ability to play Overwatch on the move. If this happens, the game will be one of the biggest ports to the system, with other such examples in recent months including The Witcher 3 and Mortal Kombat 11. All we can do know is wait for an official announcement from Nintendo or Blizzard if there is to be one.
