Xbox Gamescom 2019 Highlights

Here are some highlights from Xbox’s Gamescom conference.

Gamescom is famed for being Europe’s biggest gaming convention, so it was of no surprise that the latest episode of Inside Xbox had a lot of reveals, trailers and interviews. The team at Xbox are adamant on giving players more than they can handle, especially with Game Pass; the Netflix-style gaming subscription service. But giving gamers more than is humanly possible to handle isn’t a bad thing. I, for one, would rather drown in games than drown in boredom. So, here are some of the highlights from Xbox’s Gamescom show.

Blair Witch

This game looks as scary as the movie series and fans of both horror and the film are excited to have the living *you know what* scared out of them. The game looks terrifying and it’ll be interesting to see exactly how it translates into game form when it releases on August 30th.

Game Pass

Game Pass is getting more additions to its catalogue. To everyone’s surprise, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the soon to be released Blair Witch, and Age of Empires: Definitive Edition (Game Pass PC) and Devil May Cry 5 are all being added to the list. Others games added include Ape Out, The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut and Stellaris.

Wasteland 3 Trailer

From the minds behind the original Fallout game, the highly-anticipated Wasteland 3 offered a meaty new trailer for fans of the series, which had some story content as well as gameplay. Check it out below.

PUBG Season 4 & Crossplay

The game that made everyone else want to try their hand at making battle royale games, PUBG showcased an action-packed trailer for Season 4 as well as revealing that PUBG will feature crossplay between Xbox and Playstation.

Gears 5 Horde Mode Detailed

Gears of War fans always get some new information on Gears 5 at these conventions and this time they got a look at the new Horde Mode, where the characters will now feature unique abilities like cloaking themselves or calling in airstrikes. The game is gory, chaotic and boasts that Gears of War flare that gamers know and love.

Gamescom gave us quite a bit to digest and it has many gamers excited for many things. Xbox is killing it right now with Game Pass and I can’t wait for those games to start hitting the catalogue so I can drown myself in even more games.
