Nintendo ended their E3 2019 direct with announcing that a Breath of the Wild sequel was in development. This caused a huge uproar with Nintendo fans but we have since received little to no news on the matter. However, a recent leak may have given us the game’s first details, including the release date and the game’s title. There also were suggestions that a more powerful Nintendo Switch model is being developed for the game.
The leak suggests that the sequel will be called The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Darkness. It also states that the game will be arriving either late next year or in early 2021. There’s even a description, which states, “only the power of the Tri-force can stop the millennial curse that has finally awakened after it was concealed by time and darkness.” This may all sound made up but with the available information on the sequel, it does make sense that Nintendo will choose to take a darker approach with the title.
The leak also suggests that there’s another Switch model in the works. Apparently, this new Nintendo Switch model will be a dedicated home console and will have roughly the power of a PlayStation 4. It will be designed to compliment the main system and the recently announced Nintendo Switch Lite. It will allegedly release along side “Breath of the Darkness“.
It’s important to take the rumour with a grain of salt as it was posted on 4chan, which makes it even more dubious. Though over the years, there have been multiple rumours that have been true on 4chan, so maybe there’s a chance that it’s real (we aren’t counting on it though.) One thing’s for sure; we all can’t wait to get our hands on The Breath of the Wild sequel.
