It seems that Netflix’s The Witcher is shaping up to be a great addition to their catalogue of shows. Although we still don’t know all that much about the show, we have been given glimpses of the characters that will appear in the series. Although Geralt and company are very important to the story, there was one character that always seemed to be missing from released shots; Geralt’s most important and loyal companion, Roach. Well, Netflix has finally given us a glimpse of his infamous, trusty steed in some recently released images.
The reveal comes from a Netflix tweet, which acknowledged that fans have been asking for the four-legged companion for a while now. We see Geralt (played by Henry Cavill) on the back of Roach looking into the distance. In a subsequent tweet, the streaming service spoke about how everyone needs a best friend.

Henry Cavill even added his on commentary on the fabled steed. “Roach beats the company of Men, Elves, Gnomes and even Dwarves. She’s not always easy, but she knows more than most and cares just enough to be the only kind of company worth enjoying.”
This first look at Roach was preceded by several other recent images, which showed off famed characters Ciri and Yennefer. We were also shown a poster for the show. These images have been met with praise and have turned even the toughest critics around. We still don’t have a concrete release date for the show. Rumours suggest it will release in October or December. It is possible that we could get more information at San Diego Comic Con as the show will have a panel at the event.
The reveal of Roach is great for all those who have grown to love the famous steed. Let’s just hope that she doesn’t get stuck on top of buildings.
Are you glad to finally see Roach?
