Netflix recently shared some juicy images of the main characters from their upcoming The Witcher TV show. The new images gave us a brand new look at Henry Cavill’s Geralt and revealed Yennefer of Vengerberg and Princess Ciri. We knew both characters were going to be in the show but it’s great to see how they will look. These images provide us with greater insight into the look of the show compared to the test image we saw of Henry Cavill several months ago.
There is a lot of interest in Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher as the novel and video game series have both amassed a huge following. In addition to the character posters, Netflix also revealed the tagline: The worst monsters are the ones we create. This has been the most information we’ve received on the series thus far, but we can expect more in future. Particularly, as Netflix has announced that they will be at holding a panel for the show at San Diego Comic Con, which will take place on 19 July. There’s still no release date for the series but it’s rumoured that it is due to come out sometime between October and December.

It seems that these images put many doubts at ease. Netflix also revealed that the series will take place on “The Continent”, which is a place where humans, elves, gnomes, witchers and monsters live in disharmony. Creator of the series, Lauren S. Hissrich also released character descriptions, in which Geralt is described as stoic, circumspect, balanced, and fierce, and Yennefer is described as fiery, proud, shrewd, and contradictory. She also described Ciri as resilient, relentless, brazen, and growing.
From the released images, it seems that Henry Cavill will make a very convincing Geralt. Hopefully, a trailer for the show will drop soon.
