Cuphead DLC Delayed To 2020, New Trailer Released

Cuphead’s The Delicious Last Course has been delayed to 2020, but a new trailer for the game has been released.

Many fans have eagerly been waiting for Cuphead’s story expanding DLC since its reveal last year. It seems that fans will have to wait just a bit longer for the new content after Studio MDHR announced that they will be delaying upcoming story-DLC, The Delicious Last Course, to 2020. However, to help tide fans over, they have released a brand new trailer.

Speaking on the delay, Studio MDHR co-director Chad Moldenhauer stated, “While we initially announced a 2019 release date for the Delicious Last Course expansion, our highest priority is making sure this new adventure meets the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for. We want to be absolutely certain that this next adventure feels at home in the world of Cuphead and is full of moments that surprise and delight players. Furthermore, the development of the original game taught us a great deal about the importance of making things in a way that’s healthy and sustainable for our team.”

He also teased future projects for the game. “We’ve learned so much about animation and really honed our technique during the development of Cuphead, so expect some particularly wacky and wild moments this time around! As well as a few surprises we aren’t prepared to talk about just yet.”

The Delicious Last Course was announced in 2018 with a trailer revealing that a new character “Ms. Chalice” will be joining Cuphead and Mugman on their journey. Players will be able to play with Ms. Chalice throughout the whole game and not just the DLC.

It’s great to see a studio care about the health of their employees. The unfortunate downside is that fans will have to wait longer for the DLC to release, but it is worth it for the devs to remain healthy. The DLC is due to release on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2020.

How do you feel about Studio MDHR delaying the DLC to combat crunch?
