It seems that we can’t keep getting enough news about Cyberpunk 2077 and nor can people stop comparing it to The Witcher 3. The latest comparison, which comes from CD Projekt Red, reveals that Cyberpunk 2077 will be much deeper with regards to character choice, customization and romance options.
The news comes from a recent Reddit post which shared screenshots from a conversation with Pawel Sasko, the lead quest designer at CD Projekt Red. He said that romantic plot-lines that involve NPCs will be more present and feature more varied options than The Witcher 3 did. Sasko said “Since we’re not bound by a predefined character like in The Witcher anymore, the game will feature romance options beyond heterosexual.”
This seems to show that CD Projekt Red is able to make a much deeper customization options for player characters. In The Witcher 3, the developer was limited in terms of character choices and romance options due to Geralt (a character that had already been in existence) being the main character of the story.
The developer also seems to be creating a much deeper world overall for Cyperpunk 2077 as it was also recently confirmed that you can complete the game without killing anyone. The way the player completes the game will affect the story as characters will develop as the player progresses, which will create even more choices.
CD Projekt Red is doing a lot of things different from The Witcher 3 with their new found freedom. Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be a game where everyone will enjoy a different experience. We will all have to wait and see if the game lives up to the hype when April 2020 comes around.
