Last year, Square Enix’s E3 press conference was a little underwhelming. This year, however, they decided to pull out all the stops by bringing a good bunch of games to show off, including an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Remake, a trailer for Marvel’s Avengers and a bunch of smaller games.

Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Combat Explored

Square Enix’s headlining game was the Final Fantasy VII Remake as we were given some important details about the game. The showcase included an extensive look at combat and how it works. In a weird turn of nostalgia, the game will launch on two Blu-Ray discs. As already previously announced, the game will launch in parts. Part 1 will feature the Midgar portion of the game. The title is set to launch on 3 March 2020.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Is Getting Remastered

Square Enix had more Final Fantasy content for fans as they announced a Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles remaster. The game was originally released on the Nintendo GameCube. The remaster will add online multiplayer to the experience. The game will release on PlayStation 4, Switch, IOS, and Android sometime later this year.

Final Fantasy VIII Finally Gets A Remaster

After all this time, Final Fantasy VIII will get the remaster it deserves. The game will make its way to PS4, Switch, Xbox One and PC later this year.

Outriders Is A New Game From The Creators Of Bulletstorm

People Can Fly revealed a new title called Outriders, which is a co-op action game for three players. This is the studio’s first game for quite some time and seems to be similar to Bulletstorm. The game is “set in an original dark and desperate sci-fi universe” and will feature drop-in, drop-out co-op play. It will launch in 2020.

Tokyo RPG Factory Shows Off Oninaki

Tokyo RPG Factory showed its new action RPG game; Oninaki. This is the studio’s third release, having previously released classic-style JRPG’s I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear. In Oninaki, you play as a character whose duty is to send lost souls into the next world. The game will release on the Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Steam on 22 August.

First Look At The Marvel’s Avengers Game

Marvel’s Avengers game was finally shown off to the public with a trailer. The game is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. Square Enix said that it will release content for the game over multiple years. There will be four-player online co-op and any new character and map added in the future will be free. The game will release on 15 May 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
