After many years of speculation and intrigue, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics finally revealed the much-anticipated Marvel’s Avengers title with a trailer at E3 2019. The title is set to be released on 15 May 2020.
Based on what is seen in the trailer, the game is located in San Francisco. During a meet and greet with the Avengers, there is an attack on the Golden Gate bridge, which turns out to be a diversion for the destruction of the reactor within their ship, causing devastation to the city. With the city in ruins and the Avengers being blamed for it, the team is forced to take responsibility for their actions. It seems that the Avengers will have to gather the courage to fight back in order to protect what they love.

Although the game is based off of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the characters have a unique twist from Square Enix and Cystal Dynamics. Players will be able to play as the following characters throughout the storyline, as you reassemble the team in order to save the world:
- Captain America
- Thor
- Black Widow
- Iron Man
- Hulk
- Ant-Man
Four player co-op is supported throughout the story, allowing you to form your own team to take on the villains in this epic action-adventure game. There has been more insight shared with regards to the format of the updates and rewards. It was announced that there will be no loot boxes or pay-to-win elements in the game. All new superheroes and regions will be delivered with no additional charges, allowing players to experience everything the title has to offer.
