Another day, another E3 2019 game leak. This time it involves THQ Nordic, which are reportedly going to announce a new Red Faction game at E3 2019 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. It seems that they are gearing up to announce a new game in the franchise called Red Faction Evolution, which may take the series in a new direction.
The leak comes from the Nvidia Ansel support site where a game called Red Faction Evolution is listed. Ansel is part of Nvidia’s technology used for taking 360 degree screenshots in games. It’s essentially a very high-powered photo mode that a few PC games use. One of the games stated to be using it is Red Faction Evolution. Though this hasn’t been confirmed by THQ Nordic, there could be some truth to the leak, since we do know that THQ Nordic will be bringing two new games to E3 2019. Even if the game is not revealed at E3, it could still be part of THQ Nordic’s huge list of unannounced games.
The game franchise has been dormant since 2011 with the last entry into the series being Red Faction Armageddon. The series is known for its environmental destruction features and physics. Armageddon featured an entirely destructible environment and it is expected that Red Faction Evolution will double down on this. Though the title may not be announced anytime soon, there is some merit to a new game on the horizon as THQ Nordic did release Red Faction Guerrilla: Re-Mars-tered Edition last year. Remasters of old games sometimes do precede a new entry into an established series.
With the recent leaks of new a Destroy all Humans game and a new Darksiders, it really seems as if THQ Nordic has some big titles to announce. Red Faction would be a genuine surprise and would satisfy many fans of the franchise.
