Rumour: The Last of Us Part 2 Release Date May Be Revealed Next Week

According to a recent report, the Last of Us 2 release date could be revealed later this week.

With E3 fever around the corner, rumours are flying all over the place. Even though Sony isn’t attending the conference this year, Last of Us Part 2 is the most recent title to make headlines; this time over a potential release date. A new rumour generated by two Spanish websites suggests that Last of Us Part 2 is getting a new trailer and a release date later this week.

The release date is rumored to be set for Autumn 2019. Though there’s no merit to the rumours, the weight of two websites behind it may give it a little bit of credence. This substantiates an earlier listing by an online retailer that suggested that the release may be sometime later this year. Sony has also stated that they will be showing a trailer for a PS4 exclusive title later this week, and it is possible that this game could be Last of Us Part 2.

As previously mentioned, Sony will not be holding a press conference at this year’s E3. However, the console producer has been broadcasting State of Play live-streams to announce new games throughout the year. There may be a surprise State of Play this week to steal the thunder from E3.

Last of Us Part 2 was first announced back at PSX 2016 and since then we’ve been peppered with trailers for the game. Details about the title have been sparse, with Sony not giving any information about the game. The only news the public has received about it has come from recent tweets from game director Neil Druckman.

It seems as the stage is set for Sony to reveal a big announcement before E3 begins. With Last of Us Part 2 set to one of the biggest upcoming games for PS4, it does seem plausible that the announcement might just involve the title.

Do you think we’ll get a release date for the Last of Us Part 2 next week?
