Mortal Kombat 11 DLC Characters To Be Announced Next Week

A recent tweet from NetherRealm Creative Director Ed Boon suggests that Mortal Kombat 11’s DLC character reveal will be coming next week.

NetherRealm’s latest entry in to their famed fighting game franchise, Mortal Kombat 11, will be gaining some new characters soon. A recent tweet from NetherRealm Creative Director Ed Boon revealed that if all goes to plan, the developers will be announcing a list of planned DLC characters next week. These fighters will be joining Shang Tsung (the only known planned DLC character) as part of their first Kombat Pack. The tweet also suggests that all the fighters may be revealed at once.

Neither NetherRealm or Boon have hinted as to who these fighters may be. However, if a previous rumour is true, fans may already have a good idea as to who the additions are. The rumored list includes: Joker, Nightwolf, Terminator, Ash Williams, Sindel, Spawn, Fujin and Sheeva. Though none of these characters have been confirmed, the list has being around for quite a while.

The leak may seem ridiculous, but since the reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise, the series has become home to some really interesting guest characters. Mortal Kombat 9 featured Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street film series and Kratos from PlayStation’s famed God of War game franchise. It’s sequel, Mortal Kombat X,  featured even more guest characters including Jason Vorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise, Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise and Alien and the Predator from the Alien and Predator franchises. Thus, it’s safe to say that fans have very high expectations for the upcoming DLC characters.

With the reveal coming soon, there’s no doubt that the hype surrounding the reveal is reaching high levels. NetherRealm has crafted an exceptional fighting game and now they look to expand on that with these added characters. Hopefully, they’ll be able to please fans.
