During EA’s earnings call held on May 8th, 2019, CEO Andrew Wilson announced that a NEW Need for Speed game would be released during the third quarter of this year. Allowing players to get in touch with their inner street racer and take on the cops. According to Andrew Wilson, the game is meant to focus more on outlaw vs law enforcer.

Need for Speed will return to both consoles and PC, hopefully revitalising the franchise. With speculation that it might be a remastered version of some of EA’s biggest hits within the franchise, such as: Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2015) and the legendary Need for Speed: Underground 2 (2004), there is more of an inclination that the game will be geared closer to the likes of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010). Fans will have to be patient and wait a little bit longer to see exactly what this new game will allow racers to indulge in.

With E3 coming up soon, EA might choose to release more information about the dynamics of the game and how exactly the atmosphere within the racing environment is going to be translated to the “racer” in due time. The only known information about the up-and-coming game, is its main focal point. With the two year gap between its previous release and their new publication, will EA be able to develop this Need for Speed episode to join the ranks of some of the known gaming titles within the franchise listed above?
Over the past years, former Need for Speed titles have fallen in popularity, coming up second best against the likes of Forza Motorsport, Dirt and Burnout.
Will EA be able to rebuild the Need for Speed name, putting them back on top? Let us know what you think on the topic and if you are looking at purchasing Need for Speed 2019?
