The Original Minecraft Can Now Be Played in Your Web Browser for Free

Minecraft is turning 10, so to celebrate the original version of the game has been made compatible with web browsers.

Ten years ago, Minecraft was released on PC by then unknown developer Mojang. The game may not have looked the best but due to its unlimited building potential the game quickly became a huge success. Throughout the years, players have made some amazing designs and creations, such as cities and even King’s Landing from Game of Thrones. The game has changed over the years due to the many updates but there is a small group of players who miss the Minecraft of old.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game, developer Mojang has now officially released Minecraft Classic for free on web browser without having to install anything. Minecraft Classic is Minecraft as it was originally released in 2009 without any of the future updates for the game. Going back to 32 blocks to build with and the clunky interface.

May 17 is the official 10 year anniversary of Minecraft as it was released in 2009. Mojang would eventually be bought by Microsoft in 2015 for $2.5 billion. Microsoft has also recently being teasing an AR Minecraft game for smartphones and recently used Minecraft for a HoloLens presentation.

If you want to go back to a simpler time or just can’t deal with the Minecraft of today, then you can go boot up the old Minecraft Classic. You can even invite your friends to play with you!

Will be jumping back into the Minecraft of old and what do you expect from the 10th anniversary?
