‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Leak Reveals Some Gameplay Details

Not all that much has been revealed about the highly-anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2, other than a few screenshots, two trailers and the fact that fans may have to wait a little bit longer to play it.

The leaks, revealed by Trusted Reviews on Tuesday, has exposed a few details regarding both the upcoming title’s story and online components. The following is a summary of some of the more interesting notes listed in the leaks. (For the full list of leaks, please refer to the Trusted Reviews’ article.)

Red Dead Single-Player

With regards to the single-player game mode, it was revealed that the name of the game’s protagonist (who featured in the trailer) will be Arthur Morgan and that the name of another major character would be Dutch Van Der Linde.

The leak also suggests that players will be able play through the campaign in an FPS-view and are able to freely explore the open-world, perhaps, suggesting that players will not have to work systematically through the campaign to unlock certain areas as seen in some previous Rockstar titles.

The campaign’s narrative will also supposedly be affected by player actions during missions as well as during dialogue.

The cities within the game-world will also supposedly be densely populated and provide players with opportunities to buy items from several different vendors as well as providing players the chance to engage in side activities, such as gambling and fishing. Players will also be able to purchase new items at cheaper prices at a limited access slum market.

A new crafting system that allows players to craft new items through gathering specific resources, such as plants and herbs will also be introduced.

Red Dead Online

With regards to online gameplay, it was revealed that a version of the currently popular Battle Royale mode might be included in the game, along with ‘Revive and Survive’ and ‘Money Grab’ modes, which will pit two teams against one another battling it out to complete a set of goals.

Players can expect many elements seen in GTA V Online to return in Red Dead Online, such as players being able to purchase a home or equipment (but obviously done in a Western-theme) as well as being able to freely explore the online environment.

Players will also be able to individually organise game events, such as treasure hunts and deathmatches.

As With All Leaks…

It’s always important to take any leaked information with a grain of salt until it has been confirmed by the developer; no matter how legitimate the evidence may be.

However, if these leaks do indeed prove to be true, it does seem as if fans eagerly awaiting Red Dead Redemption 2 have a lot to look forward to.
